Need-based aid is determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Seniors and their parents can complete the FAFSA beginning in their senior year. Students and parents both need a unique Student Aid Account. Upon completing the FAFSA, you will get a number called the Student Aid Index (SAI) - formerly the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC). This is used to determine eligibility for aid from the college of your choice and may be requested on scholarship applications.

You may wish to create a free account with providers such as Bold.org ,Tuition Funding Sources, or Going Merry! This makes scholarship applications as easy as college applications are when you use the Common App!

Please visit the $cholarship Google Doc, which I update regularly.  I advise you to scroll through this vast alphabetical listing, copy those links relative to you, and paste them into a new Google or Word document of your own. Pay attention to deadlines and requirements.
